Thursday night is not only HOWEBZAR night this week, it's also Halloween! So to help out with your party plans, we'll kick off early this week at 6pm with a mix of spooky tunes, party bangers and weird sound effects (courtesy of www.freesfx.co.uk)! Click here and get your requests in early I'll be broadcasting from the Halloween Central in Kington Langley this week, located in Ashes Lane (a suitably spooky address!), so if you are trick or treating in the village this year, make sure you stop by. Why not tell your friends and family to listen in too, and give them a "shout out" over the radio. Just point them to www.howebzar.com from 6pm - 9pm HBZ GVR 24 Oct by Howebzar on Mixcloud If you missed last night's show, now you can catch up courtesy of MixCloud, a jolly clever web service.
To all those that waited through Ken Dodd and whatever else the Auto pilot threw at you, I'm sorry.
Trust me, the last hour has been hectic....but we WIN. Let me know you're out there, and what you want to hear. Big Hugs, Steve Last night we went to see "Genesis Revisited II" with Steve Hackett, one of the early members of the supergroup that was Genesis. It was a real trip down the time tunnel, with a set list of tracks from the early Genesis years (Steve Hackett left after the Wind and Wuthering LP), featuring songs like "Carpet crawlers", "Firth of Fifth", "Supper's Ready" and many I recall shouting for at concerts when I was in my 20s. Alas that was a long time ago now, and seemingly the same for the rest of the audience. Odd thing though - it was pretty loud, and I would imagine most of the audience would be the first to complain of a noisy wedding disco! The music was beautifully handled, as you would expect, faithful to the original recordings. Such a joy to see my favourite guitar solos played by the guy that created them 40 years ago. Steve Hackett can still shred. Don't be surprised to hear a 12 minute Genesis track on the show tonight - but I doubt if it will be the "singalong"! 3 questions from the box on the desk....
Answers on the show later. well I enjoyed "Singalong" last week, so I thought we'd have another go. This week a classic from Mr. Neil Diamond and "Sweet Caroline". here are the words from AZLyrics.com, now all I have to do is find a suitable instrumental version to play on Thursday at 9:30 "Sweet Caroline" [lyrics removed to keep the blog a bit more readable] ok, this Thursday night at around 9:30 I'm going to run a "Singalong with Steve" spot. Don't worry, I won't be singing on air unless I forget to fade the mike.
I want you to join in at home, in the pub or wherever you are. This week's song is the classic from Bill Withers "Ain't no Sunshine" and here's the lyrics....(courtesy of AZlyrics.com) "Ain't No Sunshine" [lyrics removed] |
